Authentic real Belgian food made by real Belgians.
Bruges Waffles and Frites shares authentic Belgian concepts.
We all know that Belgium is famous for its chocolate and waffles, but one thing that many people do not realize is that Belgium is known for its amazing fries. Pierre Vandamme, owner and operator of Bruges Waffles and Frites is originally from Bruges, Belgium and he has brought delicious authentic recipes from his homeland right here to Draper.
For Pierre and his staff it is just as much about the process of preparing the food as it is about the quality ingredients that go into it. Pierre states, “This is made with love, okay, it’s like hand-made! So people appreciate that.”
This food is fresh and since so much attention goes into the details of preparing it, it takes a little time to get the food out to customers, however it is worth the wait. Bruges Waffles and Frites has been voted as having the best fries by City Weekly since 2011 and they have been featured on Man v. Food on the Travel Channel.
Belgian waffles are quite different than what most Americans expect when they go to grab a waffle or two. At Bruges they have nothing but authentic fare. On their waffles you never use syrup. They use an imported pearl sugar that caramelizes perfectly as the waffle is cooked on waffle grid irons that are specific to the Liege-style waffle.
In Belgium meals are often about the experience. Pierre says, “It’s an emotional moment. It’s an experience. That’s what we want to offer to the customers here, an experience.” So go on in to Bruges Waffles and Frites located at about 500 E and 12300 South. You can’t miss this culinary experience! It is delicious. It is authentic. It is real Belgian food!
